| PROMOTING STRONG MOTIVATION WITHIN YOUR READERS | ||||||||
Motivation--it is a mystery to some educators and parents. Educators often question, "How can I motivate my students to read?" Meanwhile, parents often think to themselves, "How can I motivate my children to do anything?" Well, the answer to that is, "YOU CAN'T!" Motivation is an inward-outward aspect of our lives. In other words, it starts from the inside and then moves to the outside. Individuals must find it for themselves. It cannot be forced or given to another person. Although the teachers and parents of the world cannot make their students and children motivated, they CAN facilitate motivation. By understanding the child's thinking and creating a positive atmosphere in which to learn, educators and parents can do wonders with aiding in the motivation process. |
